Speedy Fox and Friends - Use Gesso

This week the challenge for the Speedy Fox blog is to make a card using gesso or white acrylic paint.    I have to tell you this was a huge step out of my comfort zone.  It only took me two days to think,  worry and finally it came together.    I have no idea how many times I walked away from working on this card.   I do like the end results of this card.  I started out with a piece of cardboard from a saltine cracker box.  I put 2 coats of gesso on it.    I sponged on some ink, smeared some gelatos on it, sprayed some water (way too much to be exact)  on it, then I use some drywall tape and sculpting paste.   When the paste dried, I used more gelatos and ink over the top of my card base.   The ribbon is made from strings  I pulled from my burlap stash.  I used Mark's Finest Paper stamps "Asian Delights" and "Umbrellas and Fans".

Thanks, for stopping by today.

Speedy TV Inspiration challenge - Put on Your Party Dress- "Party like it's 1999"

This week the Inspiration challenge over at Speedy TV is "Put on Your Party Dress".    When I thought of this title,   the song by Prince came to my mind, "Party Like It's 1999".     I always loved that song and guess what?  I will probably sing it for a couple of days now that I have it in my mind.    I have picked three beautiful party dresses as the inspiration.  Here they are:

Which one is your favorite?     The red is my favorite even though I got my inspiration from the blue and gold one.    I hope you will pick one for inspiration and make my day by coming over to join me for the challenge this week.

Thanks,  for coming by today.

CCEE Stampers - U is for Umbrella

The CCEE Stampers challenge for today is "U is for Umbrellas".   I chose a Mark's Finest Paper stamp called "Fans and Umbrellas" to use for this challenge.  I colored with copics and added some Japanese lanterns.   Be sure and come over  to the blog to see the other girl's cards and to join us for the challenge.

Speedy Fox and Friends - Use Newsprint

The Speedy Fox and Friends challenge for this week is to make a card that displays some type of newsprint.  It can come from a book or newspaper.    To go with my Newsprint, I chose to use a Mark's Finest Paper image from the "Classic Dad" set.   I love the classic cars.

Speedy TV Inspiration Challenge - Get your boots on

The Speedy TV Inspiration Challenge is all about boots this week.  A lot of people in the United States have had to get their boots out this week with the big snow storm.   I think they might have warmer boots than the inspirational boots I chose for the challenge.  When I pick the pictures for the challenge, I don't think ahead, I just look for interesting things  I like that I feel would make a cute card.  I thought I would do the jean boots, but when I started to make my card I starting seeing peacock feathers so I went in a different direction.  I used the Mark's Finest Paper stamp set "Be A Show Off".
I hope you will come over to Speedy TV Inspiration challenge and play along with us this week.

CCEE Stampers - A Tribute to a dear friend - Charlene Merrick

Charlene Merrick
22nd January 1958 - 2nd January 2014

Hi everyone,
As many of you may have already heard by now, our friend and fellow Design Team member lost her fight with cancer earlier this month passing away on the 2nd January 2014. Charlene has been battling liver and brain cancer for approx the last 12 months,

Charlene was one of the founding members of the CCEE Stampers which was formed in 2007 with our first challenge posted to SCS on the 2nd July 2007. In those days the challenges we did were just between eight stamping friends who had meet on SCS.

Charlene was loved in the stamping community and was very active on SCS and also had her own blog WhereMMsGather and My Creations. Charlene will be greatly missed by all of us here at CCEE Stampers as well as in the stamping community.

Today would have been Charlene's birthday so we have invited the past CCEE stampers to join us in this special tribute to our stamping friend by either.

1. Creating a card depicting one of the things she loved which included:

 M & M's
Penguins
Purple

2. CASEing a card Charlene created from either her blog or her SCS Gallery

If you would like to join us in this special tribute to Charlene please add your link to your card using inlinkz over at the CCEE Stampers Blog.

Here is the card I made in honor of Charlene.   Charlene was one of the sweetest ladies one could ever meet (although I never had the chance to meet her IRL) and she had a fabulous sense of humor.  We had lots of laughs over the years, here on SCS.  Love and miss you, my friend.

Sqigglefly - Make a CAS card

This week the Squigglefly blog  challenge is to make a clean and simple design card.    I chose to use the Squigglefly image "Tall Ship" by Grahamn  Gamble for my card.  It was an easy image to do.  I colored the water with a copic marker, then I added  some waves with a white Sharpie marker.  Viola, my image is done.  I used Authentique dp and I am very happy with the end results.    Seems like I am making more masculine cards these days which is totally unusual for me.

Thanks, for stopping by today.

TSC Challenge-Labels with Dr. Feel Good

This week Tater, the gal who hates PINK, has issued a challenge to make a card using labels on our cards. She also stated there is to be no PINK on the cards.
She knows when she says this that I will use PINK. I happen to like pink. ~evil grin~ I used the wrappers which is technically a label, from Dove Chocolate. I love when a challenge calls for recycling. I decided I had to use the "Lovey Dovey" sentiment to go with my Dove chocolate wrappers. I know that it should be spelled different, but I wanted to make it match my Dove hert wrappers.

Speedy Fox Center Step Card

The Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge is to make a center step card.    I chose to use the tiger stamp set from Mark's Finest Paper for my card.   Kathy made a card with a white tiger, several weeks back, and I really liked it so I made my tiger white today.  Be sure and come on over to the blog and join us for the challenge.

MFP Blog Hop-Yikes a Mouse

Today over at the Mark's Finest Paper, they are having a blog hop.  This cute little stamp set is debuting
called "Yikes, a Mouse".  On my card, Momma mouse is trying to get the baby mice to cooperate for the photographer.  She has put a piece of cheese up as a bribe to "Say Cheese".

Be sure and join in the blog hop today.

CCEE Challenge - Go A head and HOWL

Sabrina is the challenge hostess over at the CCEE Stampers Challenge blog.  She has given us an inspiration challenge this week.  Instead of an inspiration picture, she gave us an inspiration poem.
Be sure and go to the CCEE Blog to see the poem.  I sponged the moon and stamped over it with the tree stamp from "Just For Fun".  I sponged the sky and ground, then  I chose a sentiment from a Mark's Fines Paper stamp set called "North American Woods" as the finishing touch.

Thanks, for coming by today.

Speedy Fox and Friends - sponged circles

The weekend is finally here and it is raining.   I suppose that is a step up from the snow and ice we had last week so I am not going to complain.

The challenge for Speedy Fox and Friends is to use sponged circles on your cards or projects.   I chose to use the  Mark's Finest Paper "North American Woods" stamp set.   I used the colors night of navy, island indigo and Razzleberry.    These were the colors for Splitcoast stampers color challenge this week.   Come on over to Speedy Fox and hang out with the design team.  They will have some cards for you to see and you can link your sponged circle project to Mr. Linky so we can see what you made.   One lucky participant will win a stamp set.  You can find out more about that when you arrive at the blog.

Thanks, coming by today.

Speedy TV Inspiration Challenge - Pet Fashion

The inspiration challenge this week is all about dog fashion.  We have three pictures of dogs with their coats/sweaters on.   Today I used the Mark's Finest Paper "Butterfly Essence" stamp set to design my card.

Here are the pictures we used for inspiration:

Looks like we have small, medium and large to choose from.  :)

I hope you will come over to Speedy TV  and join us for the Inspiration challenge.

CCEE - Bordered Sentiment

Sabrina is giving the challenge on the CCEE Stampers blog.  She has challenged us to make
a card with a bordered sentiment.   This is a new technique for me.  I used the North American stamp set by Mark's Finest Paper.    Thanks, for taking a look.

Squigglefly - Thank You

The Squigglefly challenge for today is to make a thank you card.  I needed one for a neighbor who brought us wood for the stove in our barn.  We were lucky he cut down a few trees and we are now well stocked on wood.   I decided to make a sunburst card and I used the Squigglefly image "Happy Beaver" by Fawn Palmer.  This was the perfect image for my card.  Come on over to our blog and join us for the challenge and see what my "teamie's"have created.

We also have a new artist, Enid Barnes, at Squigglefly.  Her images are realistic and are done in an artistic technique called pointillism.   I used her Ostrich and Boxer image on the cards below.  She has some other really cute images that are now debuting in the Squigglefly store.

A big portion of the U.S. is suppose to have snow and  frigid weather this week.  If you are like me and in the deep freeze, be careful and stay warm.   Thanks, for coming by today.

Speedy Fox and Friends - Let's Stencil

The Speedy Fox Challenge this week is to use a stencil.  I have a lot to learn about stenciling,  I can't seem to get just the right amount of paint/ink. (I used paint)  I generally apply  too much.    I chose to use the   Mark's Finest Paper Stamp set called "Sending Happy Thoughts".

Be sure and check out the other team members blogs, I am sure they have something pretty for you to see today.  Thanks, for coming by.

Speedy TV Inspiration Challenge - Baby, It's Cold Outside

Happy New Year.  Wow,  here we are into a brand new year.  Have you made your resolutions ?  I didn't make any this year.   Our tradition for New Year's is to cook beans.  Oh, yes, if you cook beans today-that means you will have money all year long.  Well, I really don't believe in that, but I didn't want to take a chance so we are having beans, corn beef, cabbage, cornbread and lots of snacks left over from last night.  (We had a family game night for New Year's Eve.  We got really rowdy drinking our Pepsi's.  ha ha)

The Inspiration Challenge for Speedy TV this week is Baby It's Cold Outside and we have some pictures of cute winter coats for the inspiration pictures.     I chose Coat #2.      I used the
Mark's Finest Paper stamps called "Wings" and "Lots of Words".

Here are the coats:

Thank you, for stopping by today and I sure would love to see over at Speedy TV joining me in this challenge.
