Oh No-OUCH!!!

Here is my card for Classy Cards and Such for today.   I had fun with this one.   I love this little chick.

I started with a black card base and started layering  Graphic 45 French Country Paper.   I stamped the little chick from the Sweet N' Sassy Get Well Critters stamp set. I colored him with markers and cut him out with the Sweet N ' Sassy Get Well Critters dies.   I stamped a tree on a white piece of card stock that was cut with a stitched die.   I added grass and sponged in some clouds.  I added  the sentiments from the Get Well Critters stamp set.  I used Joy Foam Pads to pop the little chick up over the grass.  Is he not just as cute as can be?

A country themed card is just not complete with out a checked ribbon so that is what I added as my finishing touch.

Thanks for taking a peek at my card.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Blog Follower Information

I know I am a little late with this information, but just happened to see this on Dawn's blog.  I had wondered why I had a decrease in blog followers so this explains it.  I thought I would share just in case you were not aware of it either.

 Blog Follower Information

In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.
As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other Open Id providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.
We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.
We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

This change was due to take effect on Jan 11, but as I mentioned, I've already noticed
a drop in follower numbers, as have some of my other blogging friends
I apologise if this causes any inconvenience & I hope that you can create a Google account, which will allow you to continue following my blog and others, who use Blogger.

If you do create a Google account, you will have to "Follow" blogs again, as those who didn't
have an account will be permanently removed from our lists.  However, if you choose not
to open a Google account, you can still follow blogs using other means such as Bloglovin', Networked Blogs, by email etc but you'll have to check each blog individually
to see what options are available to you!.

I greatly appreciate everyone who follows my blog & I hope that you'll continue
to follow by whatever means suits you!

Classy Cards N Such Challenge #121 - Neutal Colors

For the Classy Cards N Such neutral colors challenge,  I made an all white card.  I think all white cards look really classy.   This card could be used as a Valentine or for a Wedding card.

The first layer of my card was made with the Spellbinder Romantic Rectangle die and it was embossed with the Crafts Too Dots Embossing folder.  This is my favorite and most used embossing folder in my collection. i t gives a  card such elegant look, in my opinion.

I added a piece of heart lace across the front.  I fell in love with this lace and I am sure I will use the whole roll of it without wasting a scrap of it.  The lace heart was cut using the Spellbinders
Lace Hearts.    I put Joy Foam Pads Small under the heart to pop it up over the lace.  I cut the key that is also a die in the Lace Hearts set.  I used paper from an old thank you card to cut the key.  I thought the silver complimented the card perfectly.  It has Foam Pads under it to make it stand out.  The small heart on the key was cut using Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Hearts die.  It was embossed with the dots embossing folder.

Thank you for coming by today.  Be sure and join us for the challenge at Classy Cards N Such.  We love seeing all the beautiful cards you enter in our challenge.

Hot Glue Embossing

Wow, I should be sick more often.  I am getting more cards made while I do not have to be doing errands and stupid house work.   I went to the doctor to be told I have sinus, an ear infection and pink eye.  This is my first ear infection and the first time for pink eye.  I have no idea where the pink eye came from, the grand kids have not had it.  I suppose I got it at the grocery store.  I am improving every day so I think I might be well soon.

I really had fund with this card.    I started with a piece of water color paper.  I heated up the hot glue gun and then put gold embossing powder on it while it was hot.  I heated it with the heat gun and look at the pretty design I created.   I then took Ken Oliver Color Burst and put on the water color paper.  I wanted some more colors so I added Dylusions spray ink and some color shine over that.  I love the rich colors I got.  I used an MFP stamp set called Sun and Moon for the sentiment.   I added a few sequins for the finishing touch.

I am glad you came by today and I would love to know what you think of my card.

Patty over at Winnie's Whims Blog has eye candy.  Go by and take a peek...

Classy Cards N Such - Beautiful Scraps

Here is a card I made from beautiful scraps.  I am not a mathematician, but here is my mathematical tip for you today - six to seven pieces of scrap designer paper equals one pretty card.  I hope you think so,  too...

I started with an ivory card base.  I added layers of the scrap Graphic 45 Botanical Tea designer paper.  I love all Graphic 45 papers, they just seem to call my name when I see them.  Somehow my DH doesn't seem to believe that.  ~grin~

The sentiment I stamped on the vanilla card stock is a stamp from Sweet N' Sassy Keep In Touch set.

I cute the pretty flowers using the Memory Box Tall Chloe Stem die.  I used Joy Foam Dots to pop the flowers up on the card.  I cut a piece of beaded ribbon to place over the stems.  Another scrap that I used for my card today.

Thank you for taking the time to come by and take a peek at my scrappy card.  I hope you were able to find inspiration to use some of your beautiful scraps.  Have a great weekend.

Sweet Shabby Love

I really like shabby cards and nothing says shabby better than lace,  ribbon and pearls.  I love this sassy little gal that is all dressed up for a party.

The paper I used today is from Marion Smith-Romance Novel.   I thought adding this pretty lace at the top was so perfect with this paper.  The image I used is clip art that I found on Etsy.   I used distress ink to sponge around the edges. The teapot I used is from a teapot stack die that I used.  I did not want to take away from the main image so I only used the tea pot that was on the top of the stack and I decorated it with pearls.  The doily was cut with a Cheery Lynn die.  (I never tire of using it)  The Party Music die is from Memory box.    I added the crinkled ribbon, a rose and pearls in the corners.

Thank you, for coming by today and taking a look at my card.  I hope you have a great day.

Entered this card in Eureka Stamps Challenge- Pile it On (been saving the lace and ribbon)

With Love

I have a card to share with you that I made for the Classy Cards N' Such brand new challenge.  For this challenge we are to use buttons on our cards.  I hope you will come over to the blog to play the challenge and show us your buttons.

I started my cad with a long navy card base and added a gold layer of card stock.  My next step was to cut a white layer and use the Sue Wilson  Lyra-Gemini Die on the bottom edge.

I added gold corners to the top of the card using a Impression Obsession Brick House die set.  I cut the With Love using the Spellbinders Sentiments Three dies.  I then adhered it to the white decorative piece using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

I added some navy blooms and placed faux gold buttons for the centers.  The final touch was adding pearls to my card.

Thank you for stopping by.  I  hope you are having a great Monday.

A Late Happy New Year

I am sharing a couple of belated Happy New Year cards with you that I made for
Classy Cards N Such.  I started my card with the black card base and added a layer of the Super Gold Metallic card stock.  I took a piece of black card stock and embossed it with the Crafts Too Dots embossing folder.  I never tire of using this embossing folder, I think it always gives a card an elegant look.

I cut my stars with the PoppyStamps Stacked Star die using the gold metallic card stock and silver card stock.  I just received this die and could not wait to use it.  This die can be used for lots of occasions.  I am envisioning it on a 4th of July card and for birthdays.  The letters were made from dies that were in my collection.

I used Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive to adhere the pieces to my card.

One thing I also like about this stacked star die is that by using two colors, I had pieces cut for two cards.  I hope you enjoyed seeing how easy it was to  make two cards with this die.

Have a wonderful and safe weekend.

Distressed Postage Due

It is my turn to host the Free 4 All challenge at Splitcoast Stampers this week.   I have been thinking about the new/unused stamps that I have that have never seen ink so I have challenged everyone to use one of their new/unused stamps.  If there be one who does not have a new/unused stamp, they will use a stamp they have not used in a very long time.

I used two new/unused stamp sets on this card.  They are Stampin' Up Postage Due and Gorgeous Grunge.   I white embossed the image and then  I used Tim Holtz distress inks.  I really like the colors.

If you have any of those new/unused stamps, be sure to come over and join us for the challenge.  I hope to see you there.

Colorful Bike Ride

The Classy Cards N Such challenge is to make a card using bright colors.  In my little corner of the world, it  is too cold to be bike riding,  but I know there are other places that has just the right weather to ride this cute green bike.  I chose orange, pink and green for my bright colors and I hope it isn't so bright you are going to need sun glasses to peek at it today.  ~Grin~

I used the Crafts Too Dots Embossing folder to emboss the white card stock.  I added two layers of grass to the bottom of it using the Impression Obsession Small Grass Border die.

I stamped the bicycle using the the Impression Obsession Riding Pretty Stamp Set.    I colored the image with markers and cut it out with the Impression Obsession Bicycle die set. The tiny flowers were made with the PoppyStamps Small Hydrangea Blooms. I used Stickles for the center of the flowers.

I stamped the sentiment on the circle using Sweet n' Sassy Keep In Touch, Too stamp set.   For the finishing touch, I added three silver rhinestones.

Thanks for coming by and taking a look at my card.  I sure hope you will enter your bright colored card in our challenge.

A Difficult Card To Make-Angel Wings Sympathy

The color challenge today used one of my favorite color combo's, but it was very hard to make a sympathy card with the items I wanted to use to keep it from looking like a Valentine card. I almost ditched this project, but I don't give up easily so I finally come up with something that suited three challenges and my need for a sympathy card. Red just was not suitable in my opinion for this occasion so I used a hand punch to get my tiny red heart. I only used one layer of black because I did not want it to look morbid. The mostly white card worked well with the touch of the other two colors.

This card was made for a lady (her family) that I barely knew.  I met her at the race track, but the few times I talked with her she really made an impact. She was one of those people whose faith really showed through her wonderful personality. Her husband- not so much, but I am sure that God is still working in that area. I know He has worked on me through my acquaintance with this sweet lady.  I hope that I can think of her, every time her dh purposely does damage to the cars of others to help him win a race,  that it will help remind me how she would have handled things.  Heaven really did get an Angel when she entered the Pearly Gates.

The SB Lace Heart dies, the ODBD Angel Wings and the SB Scalloped heart dies were ordered from Classycardsnsuch.com. The ODBD Layered Lacey Square Dies were ordered from ODBD. The bottom scripture was computer generated.

I made this card for the following challenges:

Splitcoast Color Challenge
Our Daily Bread Designs - Something Old Something New (Lacey Squares are new)
Eureka Stamps -Use Something New (Lacey Squares are new)

Thanks for taking a look at my card.

It's Your Birthday

I am always in need of a non gender birthday card so that is what I have to share with you today.

I started my card with a white card base. and layered it with blue/green card stock.    Next I used white card stock with the Memory Box Baptisia Collage die.  I really like how this die cut shows the layer of green behind it.

The tags were made using the Spellbinders Fancy Label Tags One.  I cut the balloons with Our Daily Bread Designs Happy Birthday die.  I used silver cord to tie the balloons together and tied a bow.

As always, I used Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive to adhere the pieces to my card.

Thank you for stopping by today and taking a look at my card.   Have a great weekend.

Blue Bird Get Well

Classy Cards has a new challenge called Winter Blues.   I hope you will come over to the blog and play the challenge.  Beverly always has a nice prize for the winner.

I used Navy and ivory card stock along with a piece of dotted designer paper.  The bird is one of my favorite stamps from my stash.

I used Spellbinders A2 Divine Eloquence die to cut the ivory card stock  that I stamped my bird on.  This is a day of favorites, that is one of my favorite dies, too.

The sentiment I used is from Our Daily Bread Ornate Frame Sentiments.   I embossed the navy panel behind the bird using  Crafts Too Dots embossing folder.

Thanks,  for coming by today.
