The CCEE Stampers Challenge for this week has to do with flowers. flowers, flowers. I chose this little fishing bunny from squigglefly . I sponged in clouds for the finishing touch on the image. I decided I would make some little waves for him to pull the fish out of. I almost covered them up with the greenery and the flowers, flowers, flowers. Yep, there is three of them. ~giggle~

Happy Birthday, Cupcake-Paper Cupcakes

The challenge for Paper Cupcakes this week is to make a children's birthday card. Once again, I chose the elephant cupcake. In case you haven't guessed, I love this image, it is just too cute.
I thought the red and pink flowered paper was perfect for my image. The bow is a fork bow and super easy to make. Besides that they always look nice and I am not good at tying bows. I must have slept through that class. ~Chuckle, Chuckle~ Why don't you come on over to There's Magic in the Air and join us for our challenge? We had more storms come through on Friday. It was pretty nasty, but did not have any touch down so there was no damage. Everyone was really on edge. My heart and prayers are with the states that received damage with this one.

CCEE. TSC and Squigglefly

The challenge for the CCEE Stampers and Squigglefly was to make a spring card with a scene, flowers, etc.. The Twisted Sister Challenge was to use atleast two different spellbinders, add buttons, brads or charms, ribbon and twine were optional. Check out the CCEE Stampers blog for details of their challenge and see the other team members cards.

I chose a Squigglefly digital image to use on this challenge and colored it with copics. I used the Fleur Di Lis motif and circle spellbinders.

We had a horrendous tornado here early this morning. We were lucky and did not have any damage at our house. There was a considerable amount of damage on the other side of town and at least 6 fatalities. It is so sad to see all that people have lost including loved ones. My prayers are with each an everyone of them.

This week the tea potter's are making cards for Chris Titolo to take to the children's hospital where he was a patient. He was appreciative of their great care so he is doing a card drive to get cards for the nurse's to give to children who are there on their birthday.
I thought this Paper Cupcakes Digital image was so perfect for this challenge. Isn't he just the cutest little elephant cupcake? This also qualifies for our TSC this week.

CCEE Favorite Zoo Animal

The challenge this week is to make a card with our favorite zoo animal on it. I like several so it was a hard choice, but the zebra won out over the others. I still like this Stampin Up Set Zoofari.
It is another of my favorites to make baby cards with. I stamped the image with versafine ink, it always makes a nice clear image and is my choice ink when I do not have to color an image. Versafine does smear when you try to color it with copics. The CCEE Stampers would be pleased if you would join us for this challenge. Kathy-featured stamper

My friend, Kathy was chosen as Featured Stamper on Splitcoast stampers two weeks ago. I am just now getting a card made in her honor. Kathy has a wonderful SCS gallery and her coloring is just beautiful. No way can I do her coloring justice. I chose a squigglefly image for my card as it reminded me of the image Kathy had on her card and Kathy is on the Squigglefly design team. A critter for the Paper Cupcakes challenge

The challenge this week for Paper Cupcakes was to use any Paper Cupcake image that had a critter on it. I chose the image "Beeware" for my image. I used paper out of my scrap bin so I can't tell you the name of it. I colored the little chicken with copics, punched a couple of flowers, added a brad and used tan ribbon to finish up my card. The Twisted Sister challenge this week was given by Carroll Anne. She challenged us to make a children's card, use an out of the box technique and use yellow. The little duck saved me on using yellow. My ribbon was too wide for the space on my card so I twisted it and tied the bow with a fork. I used tear drop circle spellbinders and colored the image with copics. I stamped the baby bottle and put a slit in the arm so it looks like the baby bunny is holding it.

This card is for a new baby boy at church.

I made this card for a little boy who had some extensive surgery before Christmas. I am red faced that it has taken me so long to get a card made for him. He loves playing ball so I thought this image was perfect for him. I don't have many little boys stamps so I found this cute pre-colored digi at Beccy's place.

It is winter again in our neck of the woods. I was getting use to that 60 degree weather. It really needs to get really cold a couple of times to kill all the germs and bugs. I could take a few cold days as long as it does not stay that way for weeks. Since mother nature has not ask what kind of weather that I want, I suppose I will just take what she chooses.

Here is the card I made for the Paper Cupcakes challenge this week. We were to use Nina's new image "Enjoy the Moment". Danie challenged us to design a card/project for someone you love ( husband, children, sister etc) using the colors pink and white with one other color, but that color can't be red. I chose Porcelain blue for my color. The hearts are cut with spellbinders, I used the MS fence punch, buttons, thread, swiss dots embossing folder and tulle. Graphic 45 cards

This card was made for the Twisted Sister challenge. Kathy gave us the challenge to use a circle on our card and to use black and one other color of our choice. I used the Graphic 45 stamp and paper for this card. I bet you can tell by this post, I sure like this paper. *smile*
I made this card for Terri aka Bratcards who was Queen for the day on Splitcoast stamping.
Did I tell you I am loving this loving the Graphic 45 paper which is new to my inventory. *grin again* I hope you are liking it, too.
I made this card for our pastor that is in the hospital. I enjoyed using the Tim Holtz old truck and the graphic 45 paper together. I had forgotten I had gotten this stamp set before Christmas. I suppose I was too busy making Christmas cards at that time so I didn't get a chance to use it. This is a different look for me, let me know what you think.

I entered this card in Here Come The Boys song title challenge. The name of the song is "The Pick Up Man".

I want to welcome to the CCEE Stampers four new members, Brenda O'rear, Lois Bak,
Sabrina Friel and Kathy Bradley.

So now onto our challenge. Frances has another challenge for us this week. Most of you probably know that Frances lives in Australia! Well it’s a special day for all Aussies today as it is Australia Day! It is on this day in 1788 that the First Fleet arrived at Sydney Cove. This day is special to them, just like the 4th of July is special to those of us who live in the USA!

The challenge is Aussie related today. Here are a few options that Frances has given us … use the colors green and gold on your card; create a beach scene (we love our beaches); use Australian Animals; Thongs (you wear on your feet btw) or anything else that you think would relate to Australia!.

I chose an owl, by Hampton Art, Frances loves owls and there are owls in Australia. The paper is by K & Company, the ribbon was off of my Christmas present this year and I just happened to come across it when I was putting my card together, that worked out well. I used a three different spellbinders sets and sponged the clouds with bashful blue ink.

TSC for my Bestie

Lesley gave the Twisted Sisters challenge this week. She asked us to make a card for our BFF.
My card is going to my friend, Pat. Pat lives in California I met her on Splitcoast stamping.
We finally got to meet each other IRL and we have been best friends every since. We visit each other and our husbands join us so they have gotten to be great friends, too. When I made this card, I tried to put everything on it that related to Pat. If I were out on a limb, she would come out to rescue me. She is always there for me Sunday through Monday. The trust ticket symbolizes how much we trusted each other before we met. Picking Pat for a friend was like picking the most beautiful rose in the garden because she is beautiful inside and out. The measuring tape symbolizes that there is no tape measure long enough to measure our friendship. Yes, this is a 100 per cent true story just as the card says.

I used Recollections My Mind's Eye paper, the main image is from Printworks and the limb is a Clear Dollar stamp. I hope you enjoyed hearing about my bestie. Thanks, for looking.

CCEE Challenge

Wow, it has been a whole week without a post to my blog. My dh had surgery on Monday and I have been busy being his nurse this week. Today he was feeling a bit better, which allowed me to get my challenge card done.

The CCEE challenge for this week, given by Frances aka StampOwl. Chinese New Year is celebrated on January 23rd this year and it is the Year of the Dragon … so for this week's challenge either use a Dragon on your card or find out what animal relates to your birthday year in the Chinese Zodiac and create a card using that animal. Paper Cupcakes-From the Heart

Nina at Paper Cupcakes, drew a really neat image for us to use for our challenge this week and it is called, "From The Heart". The twist to this challenge is after you have created it you are challenged to send/give it to someone who has touched your life with some type of kindness over these last several weeks or someone that needs some type of encouragement/lifting up. I am sending my card to a little 5 year old boy that is terminally ill. We would like to see you join our challenge. This image is available for free for a short time at There's Magic in the Air.

Hansel and Gretal

Frances is giving the challenges this month for the CCEE Stampers. this week she asked us to make a card in honor of Jakob Grimm's birthday, he was born in 1785. Do you know what he was responsible for? If you answered, fairy tales, Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel or Hansel and Gretal, you would be right as he wrote many a fairy tale in his day. I did not have a stamp for this one, but I came up with a cute image of Hansel and Gretal. When I saw this pre-colored image, it was saying vintage/shabby chic. As I have said before, this is a style that I am not comfortable with so it does not come easy for me. I chose Colorbok paper to showcase this image, made my first attempt at making a stick pin, used lace and various punches. My friend, Sue, shared this ticket with me and I thought it was perfect for this card so I grunged it up a little. I hope you like the change of style today. I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas. We had Christmas at our house with the family, we had a great time and good food. I ordered BBQ and the girls brought side dishes. We like to keep it simple on Christmas and enjoy our day together.

I just had to do one more black and red card this year. I hope you are not sick of seeing this dp as it is my favorite I also am in love with this cute snowman that is hand drawn by Deena Perreault. I think this little guy might be on all my Christmas cards next year. Eran's Birthday Card

I made this card for my son-in-laws birthday. He got a Harley this summer and I tried to match the color. The Harley looks blue and then in a different light, it has a purple look to it. This is almost like another card I made a few weeks ago except I used a different embossing folder and that bike was red.

It was chilly here today. The cold sure makes me ache all over, even worse than it did before. I hope you all are keeping warm.

I chose to use the SU Stitched Stockings with the matching punch. SU sure knows how to make it easy on us. I used a Spellbinder's Fancy tag for the sentiment. CAS Glittery Snowflakes

The challenge for the CCEE Stampers and the Twisted Sisters challenge was to make a card with snowflakes. I punched out the snowflake and put the green glittery paper behind it. This card was very hard to photograph with the glitter and the silver ribbon. It still is not perfect, but better than the one I posted on the CCEE blog. Shabby Chic Christmas Card

The challenge for Paper Cupcakes this week was given by Sonia. We were to make a Shabby Chick or Vintage Christmas card. This one made me step outside of my comfort zone. I chose the Welcome Winter image from Paper Cupcakes that will be released next month. I used my Cheery Lynn pastry doily from Happy Scrappy ( Happy Scrappy-http://www.happyscrappy.us/), along with some lace and poinsettias, I did the distressing with my distress tool and ink. The challenge for the CCEE Stampers this week was given by Joanne. She challenged us to make a one layer card. I received this stamp set (Northern Hearts) from a friend and I was ready to ink up. I saw this card on Splitcoast Stampers and they used crumb cake c/s. You can't tell by the picture, but I used Craft c/s. I embossed each snowflake. I used cherry cobbler, early espresso and craft white ink. The bow was made with a fork.

Tea Pot Party Card

The tea potters were making cards this week to send to Neil who had a really bad accident. We are hoping to cheer him up. I wanted to make him a card and to do one that had no foo foo on it. The designer paper is from DCWV and the silver I embossed with a diamond embossing folder. I used a strip of white across the center, but black ribbon would have looked better, but I promised myself to not put that foo foo on Neil's card. I distressed the red piece of card stock to give it a more manly look.

The Twisted Sister Challenge for today was given by Brat. She challenged us to use silver, green and white. I actually had forgotten I had this challenge due today. I thought of it this afternoon and decided to pull off a really quick card. (for once, it worked for me) My Dasher stamp is another that had never been inked. I really am pleased with Dasher in silver. The silver bow is a fork bow. I love making them, but wish I had a bigger fork. (the one I used was fairly big)

A friend of mine used this stamp at one of our monthly card swaps. I loved it so much that I searched for one to buy. I don't do a lot of Halloween cards so I have very few Halloween stamps, now that sounds like a good reason to buy a new stamp. I know, like I need a reason.

TSC1007, Thanksgiving and Swirls

I made this card for the Twisted Sisters Challenge this week. Kathy challenged us to make a Thanksgiving card with swirls. Due to a fibro flare, I chose to do a CAS card. I used a pumpkin template that I purchased from The Cutting Cafe. I embossed it with the wood embossing folder, I suppose the swirl embossing folder may have been more appropriate for this challenge.

We took in another stray dog this week which is requiring a lot of attention. She evidently was terribly abused. She is a really sweet girl and we hope to find her a good home. So many people are ditching their dogs these days. It is so sad. The bad part is-we can't save them all. I sure wish we could. The last little orphan that came here went to a kennel, which a friend of mine has. She was so attached to us, that she was miserable. Yes, you guessed it, we went back and got her. She loves her new home, although, our home did not need another dog.

I hope you are enjoying the wonderful fall weather. I sure am, but I am not looking forward to the arrival of Old Man Winter.

House Mouse Christmas

Happy October, everyone. It is a perfect time for making smores and roasting hot dogs. I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather. It feels good today, but tonight is suppose to be cold.

I am excited to tell you about my mousie card. I made it for the House Mouse and Friends challenge 105. We were to make our card glittery. I put glitter on his hat, not sure if you can see it. This card was made from scraps. My friend, Sue, was here visiting from PA. We saw some cards on a SU demo's blog made from scraps so that is where this idea came from. Sue put the strips on the card for me while she was here and I am just getting around to finishing it. Notice that there are two strips of paper vertically and horizontally, my ribbon hides a lot of it. I had the scalloped square in with these scraps so I added it and the cute little mousie. Isn't this a great way to use up those scraps? I have bags and bags of scraps, probably enough to make a jillion cards. What do you think about my scrappy card?

CCEE1139 Postage Challenge with the help of my friends

The CCEE challenge for this week was given by Cindy. She challenged us to make a card with something to do with postage whether it have something to do with a postage stamp, a post card or postage edge. This one really threw me for a loop. The only thing I could think of to work with was deckled scissors. I started out with a completely different card. I changed my image mid stream then ran across this paper by Lost and Found that went pretty well with my Texas images. I worked really hard trying to do a vintage card, vintage does not come easily for me. The scripture was smudged purposely to make it look old. My friends Tate and Kathy helped me with supplies they had given me for my stash. Thanks, a bunch, gals.

I have been missing for a few days. I have a SCS friend visiting here from PA and another SCS friend, from near Springfield IL, came for the weekend. I had met both of them once before. It was like we had known each other forever. We had a blast.

Wow, looks like I am on a Yellow and Blue kick this week. This is the third card in a week that I have used these colors. Funny thing is, they are not colors that I normally use. I had a few challenges I wanted to do this week so due to lack of time, I was able to combine them. This card was made for the teapot party this week. The cards go to Eula who is celebrating her 109th birthday. Wow, can you imagine being her age and still having a sharp mind like she does. My poor little mind forgets more and more each day. Eula likes to know about the internet and about others lives. What card would better describe something about me than a dog card. Most of you know my hobby seems to be collecting dogs lately. Real ones. This squigglefly image was perfect since the last dog that came to my home to adopt me was a Doxie girl. (my Doxie is black, but with the black sunglasses, the blacks just blended together, I will have to practice on that) The Squigglefly challenge was to use green and blue. I added the lace border to soften it us since I am sending it to Ms. Eula. I also used the Midnight Madness challenge for this week.

Hope you all are having a fun and safe Labor Day weekend. My family are all scattered out in different directions this weekend. My hubby raced last night, at small track near our home, he came in second. My son's band played at a near by festival last night. My grandson's are bull riding this weekend. They were at Popcorn Days, in Southern IL, last night, one of them tied for second, the other one got hurt (a concussion). He seems fine today. Tonight and tomorrow they are riding at the DuQuoin State Fair. I am praying for safe rides for both of them.

I have had family visiting from California and Nevada for the last five days. We had a great time, but it went by way too fast. They had to leave today and I miss them already. Even my dogs seems to miss them, they are being very quiet today. I wish they could have stayed longer, but I am sure they were ready to get headed home. They have two fur babies at home that they are missing terribly. I sure know all about missing those fur babies since I have five of my own.

Twisted Sister CAS Challenge Card

Here is the card I made for the Twisted Sister challenge this week. I was a little late in getting it done, but my motto is "better late than never". Carroll Ann gave the challenge this week. She challenged us to make a CAS card and use the colors crumbcake, razzleberry, old olive and very vanilla. I did not have crumbcake so I substituted this tan color. The olive was used on the stems of the flowers. I used my favorite SU celebration set of all times, Happy Harmony. This was a fun and easy card. Makes me wonder why I don't do all CAS cards. KWIM?

Twisted Sister Challenge Card

The Twisted Sister Challenge was given by Sylvia aka Silly Filly today. She asked us to make a card that was not a rectangle or a square, must have 3 layers, embossing, ribbon and a flower.
I used a boot template from The Cutting Cafe. I chose a wild dp by Paper Studio, I dry embossed the top and the sole of the boot. I used a white gel pen for the stitching, added silver cording for the shoe lace of the boot, then hot glued pom poms on them and added the flower so I would be in compliance with challenge. It is hard to believe that August is almost half over. It is passing by so fast. The good thing is, at least it has cooled off here. The last two weeks had been terribly hot. I know when my sister reads this, she will be hoping the cooler weather is here when she comes in two weeks to visit from California. She hates both the heat and the humidity we have.

Paper Cupcakes and the CCEE Challenge for this week.

I had fun with my Paper Cupcakes challenge this week. We were challenged to use and animal image an go wild with it. Well, I guess this is about as wild as I get. I thought the animal print ribbon was a nice addition for a going wild theme. I used the layout for the mojo202 challenge.

The CCEE challenge for this week was based on facts that Charlene found on Funfactz.com about glass. INTERESTING FACT: "When glass breaks, the cracks move at speeds of up to 3,000 miles per hour." I decided to use an old SU stamp set called Window on the World and make a Christmas card. It won't be long before we are racing to get all our Christmas cards made and getting them ready to mail.

Here I am doing something I said I would never do. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow.
No matter how much you fight doing some things, it comes down to just doing it anyway. Well, since I am new to this, please bare with me as I figure out the world of blogging making lots of blunders along the way. I was trying to figure out what to name the blog and I thought about how I am always getting ink on my right pinkie finger from the ink pad when I stamp. I decided that my pinkie is inkie might be the perfect name for it.
