Under the Boardwalk

This card was made for the Twisted Sister challenge today.   We were challenged to make a card related to summer and use summery colors, have  die cuts and bling.   Orange and pink  with a hint of blue spells out beach colors to me so that is the colors I used.   I kept thinking about how was I to get the bling on this card when I had it all put together.   Not much room left.   Then it hit me, a toe ring.
This was a fun card, I hope you like it.
I usually don't finish the inside until I am ready to use the card, but I decided this one had to be a birthday card so I finished it off.

The designer paper is by K & C, another thing that I have had for about 5 yrs and have not used so that is the uncut paper I used for the challenge over at Use It Tuesday.

I am happy you stopped by today to see what was happening in Boxertown.   We did get some rain in Boxertown.   As I mentioned in an earlier post, the fair is in town and that usually brings on the rain.
I am so thankful for the little rain we got,  I can see a little green in spots of my yard.

Have a wonderful and safe weekend.

Squigglefly Release

Yikes,  a facelift, what ya talking about,  I can't be that old, can I?   Never mind, don't answer that.
Thought I would throw in some humor with this humorous image that I used on this card.  The image was just released over at Squigglefly, "Did You Say Facelift?" by Lynne Stansbery.     My friend, Sue, came to visit back in June.  She brought a cute card for me to make and it was a dresser like this one.
When I saw this image, I thought this funny lady would look cute with her face on the mirror of this dresser.   I did a bit of recycling on this card, too.   The mirror is the foil from a coffee container.

This card is also for the CCEE  challenge.  We were to make a step card.  Care to join us, we would love to see your cards.

Let me know what you think of this new digi.   I loved it.

Sunny Stroll-Waste Not

The challenge for Paper Cupcakes this week is one of my favorite things to do.   The theme is Waste Not.   We were to use something that could be recycled.     A friend had given me several white coffee bags so I decided to get them out and see what I could do with them.   The orange paper under this cute little chick is a piece of my coffee bag that I used alcohol inks on to make a background paper.  (I know, it doesn't show real well)    The other thing I used was a soda can.   I punched my sun out of the aluminum.   Yes, my punch stuck, but I was able to get it open without damaging it.  The one thing I can say is,  the metal does sharpen your scissors when you cut it as well as the punch.  If you do this technique, be  careful not to cut yourself.   You would not want to put the metal on a childs card.  Even on an adult card, make sure you get all the sharp edges glued down.  I hope you enjoyed seeing my recycling project.   Come on over to our blog,   There's Magic in the Air, we would love to have you join us for this challenge.  I can't wait to see what you recycle.   It's fun, come on, give it a try, you might win a free Paper Cupcakes digi, too.

Come back again soon.

Two Border Punches

This week Lois thought it would be fun to get out those border punches and use two of them on our cards.  As I look at my card, you can barely see my borders.   I used a scallop punch and a lace border scallop border punch and layered them.    Why don't you head on over to the CCEE  stampers blog and check out my team mates' cards and link your card up with Mr. Linky to join in our challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Doodle, do, do-TSC

This card was made for a Mark's Finest Paper challenge and for the Twisted Sister Challenge.
I challenged my  Twisted Sister's to make a card with doodling.  I love the look of it, but seems like I don't see any of that any more on cards.  I chose to use a Paper Cupcake image that really has a peaceful feel to it.  The challenge for MFP is all about vacation.   I think that the resting place of this boat looks like a perfect vacation spot.  What do you think?

Thanks, for coming by.  Have a great weekend.

MFP Sketch with a twist

The sketch challenge with a twist  for Mark's Finest Paper this week is to make a card using their sketch.  The twist is that you have to use 3 patterned papers , as well.  I am not sure you can tell by this picture, but the dark paper under the rose is a patterned paper,  I was afraid it just looked like a black piece of card stock.   We could flip or rotate the sketch and give it our own flair as long as you could still look at the card and see the original sketch.   The Ways to Use it challenge on split coast stampers was to using real or faux stitching so I added some stitching for that challenge.

This card was made for some really nice people in Alabama.  My grandson was stranded in Alabama and they made sure he got transportation home.   He had never met  these people before and they were kind enough to take him under their wing.   We are very grateful to them.

Thank you, for stopping by today.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Margarita Cupcake-Paper Cupcake Challenge

Nina over at Paper Cupcakes drew a new image for our challenge this week.  This is her latest Margarita cupcake.   Nina also drew a really neat sketch for this challenge, she gives you two sketches to choose from, too.   If you go on over to  There's Magic in the Air  you can find the sketches there and pick one for your card.   You do not need to use one of our digital images to play along, but of course we would love to see a Paper Cupcakes image used. Please note: Everyone that uses a Paper Cupcake's image will be entered into the drawing twice to win.  There is a bonus this week, Nina has this image free on the There's Magic in the Air  blog for 48 hours.

Cowboy and Indian

I just fell in love with this cute  Squigglefly  image, Cowboys and Indians, by Diane Caraubia.
I had to put the red boots on the cowboy because when my youngest grandson was little, he always wore red cowboy boots.  Even when he started doing rodeos and riding bulls, he still wanted red boots.  I created the card for an Outlawz challenge, anything goes, but it had to have a sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by.   I hope you are keeping cool in your part of the country.  It sure has been hot in mine.

squigglefly summer color-CCEE Stampers circles

The challenge for  Squigglefly   is to make a card with summer colors, your favorite summer color.  I love yellow so I have to say that would fall in my favorite category.   Yellow is a bright and happy coIor and reminds me of a bright shining sun.  I chose to use the Squigglefly image "Pansy Watering Can" by Marla Shega.    Why don't you head on over to  Squigglefly's challenge blog and link your summer color card to the challenge?  You might win  THREE free digis, if you do.  No one won the challenge the last two weeks so when you ad those two images to this weeks image, there are three Digital images that Sqigglefly will  give away to a lucky person using a squigglefly image.

This card is also for the  CCEE stampers challenge  this week.  We were to put 3 circles on our cards.   If you look closely, you can see my circles, which is part of the easel,  although half of each circle is hidden.   Come on over to the CCEE blog, take a look at the team members cards and upload your card with 3 circles.  You can also upload to Split Coast using the key word CCEE1227

Thanks for stopping by today.
