Speedy Fox and Friends - Tissue Paper Challenge

Here is the last Speedy Fox Challenge for 2012.    We have been challenged to use tissue paper.   My first thought was to do this shopping bag with tissue paper and then I realized how perfect it would be to pair it up with the "You've Got Style" stamp set, that was just released last week over at Mark's Finest Paper.      Once I got my bag done, I decided the bag would look cute with a tissue paper flower.
This is the first one I have ever made and it was pretty fun.  I like how it fluffs up so easily.   Please come over to our blog and play along with us this week.  Someone always wins a nice stamp set.  You do not have to use Mark's Finest Paper stamps, but your name will be entered in the drawing twice if you do.

I am wishing you all a very Happy New Year.  What is the tradition in your area for cooking on  New Years day for prosperity?   Ours is to cook beans so our menu usually consists of  corned beef, beans, fried potatoe's and cabbage.

Santa Snow Globe

Here is the last Christmas card for 2012.   I had this snow globe cut out and ready to make a card with it, but somehow did not get around to it until now.  I started out wanting a blue sky with dotted white vellum.  The Santa did not show through it very well so I changed it to this one and I I like it much
better.   The Santa is a Mark's Finest Paper stamp,  the template is from Cutting Cafe, I used liquid appliqué,  paper studio paper and colored with copics.

Thanks for coming by today.   I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

Speedy Fox and Friends - Clouds and Sun

Yee Haw,  here we are again  and it is time for the Speedy Fox and Friends challenge.  Today we are making projects with sun and clouds.  I chose to use the Mark's Finest Paper stamp set, "Hey Cowboy".  I used a template to sponge my clouds.   I wanted to make the sun to have rays coming down from it so I used a piece of paper to sponge the edge and kept moving it around the sun to create that look.  I know this is a busy time for everyone, but I do hope you will join us for our blog challenge.

Mark's Finest Paper this week.   I am using the first one to send to someone who has been feeling under the weather.

Hope you all are having a great day and getting your Christmas preparations done.   Only 6 more days before we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Card for my Veterinarian -Squigglefly Challenge

Holley's Hobbist's are giving the challenge over at Squigglefly today.   The theme "Tell Me Something"means you can make a card of your choice as long as you put a sentiment on it.   I chose to use this cute "Christmas Beagle" by Marla Shega.     I love this adorable pup.   I made this card to send to my veterinarian.     I thought the animal print was a perfect choice to pair up with this image.      Holley and her team would be happy to see you link your card up to this challenge.   Okay, I am off
to link up my card.   What are you waiting on, come on over and join the fun.

Penny Black - Elf Mim

Here is a card I made today with a Penny Black stamp "Elf Mim".    I received this stamp for my birthday from a friend.   I finally got to ink her up and I really like the way she turned out.    I put glitter on her hat and  I bet I am wearing some on my face, too.   ~smile~

I hope you are getting all your preparations done for the upcoming Christmas holiday.

Speedy Fox and Friends - Snowman Soup

Yes, today brings us another challenge over at Speedy Fox and Friends.   The challenge theme
is Snow.  I thought I would share my recipe for Snowman Soup.  Oh, my, is it easy and a microwave treat, too.   My friend, Becky, shared this pattern and recipe with me a few years ago and I make a few every year for older people in my church, friends or for someone in the nursing home.   I put hot chocolate mix in the paper cup I made with a candy cane. (one could use tea bags if they wanted)  I usually put a little bag of mini marshmallows in it, but I will have to pick some up at the store,  there was none to be found in my kitchen.  I chose to decorate my cup with Paper Studio Paper, I used a Mark's Finest Paper Stamp set-Snow Gifts and added a computer generated Snowman Soup recipe.  Just for a little added decoration and something else to go along with todays challenge theme,  I put glittered snowflakes at the bottom of the cup and added some in front of the cocoa mix.  I hope you liked my project for today and also hope you will join us for our challenge.  Thanks, for stopping by.

Sneak Peek - Scottie Christmas card

I love this Mark's Finest Paper set "Kilt Fun" that will be in their store next week.  I have a friend that just got the cutest little Scottie puppy so I had to make her a Christmas card with it.    The Ivy that I used also comes from another new set that will be available next week called "Ivy and Blossoms".   The sentiment comes from the Holly Jolly set.

Sneak Peek Recipe Card

Here is a recipe card I made with with two new stamp sets (Recipe starter and Recipe completer)  that will be in the Mark's Finest Paper store next week.   I have another recipe card that I need to make for a friend at church who liked a cake I made on Sunday.   I will have fun making it really cute with these sets.

CCEE1250 - Santa

The CCEE Stampers challenge this week is given by Frances.    She has challenged the team to make a card with Santa on it.    I used one of my favorite Santa stamps, called "Santa I Believe" by Flourishes.
I used Tim Holtz distress ink to stamp it and sponge around the edges.   I added a poinsettia with gold micro beads.  We  would like for you to join us for the challenge, head on over to the blog, link your card up and check out the other team members wonderful Santa cards.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another Sneak Peek

Here is an apron card I made with the Recipe card starter card set that will be released next week over at Mark's Finest Paper's.    I thought this would make a good birthday card.    I made a computer generated sentiment that says, " Especially on your birthday".   This set has another mini set that goes with it and I will give you a sneak peek tomorrow of what can be made using both the sets.

See you tomorrow.

Paper Cupcakes Little Snow Friend

I am very sad to say that this is my last  Paper Cupcakes   challenge due to the closing of the blog.  I am going to miss  it.  I have certainly enjoyed working with Nina and her wonderful images.  You will still be able to get the Paper Cupcakes images at least until the end of the year by going to Paper Cupcakes .   Our challenge for this week is to use the new freebie image "Little Snow Friend" and the theme is winter or Christmas.   Take a look at the other team members cards on the challenge blog, There's Magic in the Air.   If you want to play along we would love to see your card uploaded there.

I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.

Squigglefly -red and green

Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals over at the Squigglefly Blog are giving the challenge this week.  They have challenged everyone to make a red and green card.   It does not have to be Christmas although when I think of the red and green color combo that is what pops in my mind.  I used the  new  Squigglefly image called "Winter Clothes" by Fawn Palmer.   I hope that you will come on over to the Squigglefly Blog and join us for our challenge.   You do not have to use a Squigglefly image and you just might win a free Squigglefly image if you link your card up to Mr. Linky.

Speedy Fox #137 - Red and Green

We have another  fun Speedy Fox and Friends" challenge today.   We are to use red and green.  I always think Christmas when the colors red and green are mentioned even though we could have made any type of card with these colors.    I really liked coloring this Poisettia bloom from
Marks's Finest Papers  with  green, it was a color I had not used for one before.   I added stickles to give it some shine.    The joy was embossed with white embossing powders and I used a MS branch punch.   The mitten was made with a template from the Cutting Cafe.

Come on over to the "Speedy Fox and Friends" blog to see what the other team members have colored up for you to see.  Please join us in our challenge, you could win a free stamp set.  It is always fun to win a drawing.

Have a great day and be careful if you are out there Christmas shopping.

Amaryllis Definition

I made this card for the Queen for the day challenge over at Splitcoast. Pam MacKay is the queen.  I used a new stamp set that just came out this week, called Amaryllis Definition, by Mark's Finest paper, colored with copics and the paper is color bok Flea Market.  Seems like I have been on a blue kick with my cards, but today I am back to making the pink ones.  I definitely like the pink and brown color combo.

Thanks, for coming by to check it out and for the nice comments.

CCEE-new favorite die

Cindy is giving a challenge this week for the CCEE gals to make a card with our favorite new die.  I chose to use this Spellbinder Nestabilitie's  dotted die which happens to be my newest die.   I used a Mark's Finest Paper stamp set called "Winter Scenes".   I used Paper Studio paper, colored with copics, punched snowflakes from glitter paper and used the swiss dots embossing folder to make it look like snow falling around the tree.   Be sure and go over to the CCEE Stamper's blog to see the other cards and while you are there upload a card with your new favorite die.

Thanks, for stopping by.

Sand Dollar Sketch Challenge

Here is a card I made for the Splitcoast sketch challenge today.  I have an over abundant amount of blue scraps and I wanted to do the center of the sand dollar in blue so I was in luck when it came to a mix of dp's to go with it.    The papers are all from Paper Studio.  The sand dollar is one of Mark's Finest Papers stamps.  The sentiment is also a Mark's stamp from the set " ATrip to Lancaster".
I colored the image with copies B91, 000, E30, 00, 000.

Winter Wonderland-SFC4812

The challenge over at Squigglefly is given by Holley Hobbists today and they are doing a winter wonderland theme.  I chose to use this pre-colored Inger Harding image.   I love the pre-colored images.  It is so easy to make a card when time is limited.  My DH is still on the mend from his surgery so I haven't had a lot of time to dedicate to card making so this was a perfect image for me to work with.   I added some stickles on the snow and that was all I did to the image.  Easy peasy.  I thought this
October Afternoon paper was perfect to use with my image.  Due to limited time, I used this card for the TSC challenge, too.

Have a great day and I will see you again soon.

Speedy Fox and Friends #136

Well, Saturday has rolled around once again and we have another great challenge over at Speedy Fox and Friends.    The new challenge is to make a Christmas card with no red or green.  I like the idea of that as I love to make Christmas cards with  black/red and pink/blue combos.  I decided to make one in a different color combo of blue and gold.   The stamp set I used for the ornament is Winter Scenes and the note paper was made with the set Just a Note.  Both of these sets are new releases over at
Mark's Finest Paper.

Now I have to fess up and tell you this card was the first card I made for this challenge, in that pink/blue color combo I told you I liked.   Everything was going really good until I took a picture of it to upload.   It was at that time those red and green circles popped out of that paper.   ~grin~   I have no idea why I never see mistakes until I snap the picture and start to edit it.   Anyway, that just gave me an extra card to show off this fantastic stamp set.

I hope you will come on over to Speedy Fox and Friends to join us for this challenge   Add your card to Mr. Linky and you will have a chance to win a nice stamp set from Mark's Finest Paper.  You do not have to use a Mark's Finest Paper Stamp, but it will put you in the drawing twice to increase your chance to win.  I will be checking to see if your card is uploaded  there.   Thanks, for coming by today.  See you again soon.

Squigglefly Sneak Peek

Squigglefly is excited to announce that they have a new designer, Elizabeta Kushner .    This candle is one of the new images that will be making it's debut in  the Squigglefly Store tomorrow, along with many other new images.   An amazing piece of information on Elizabeta is every bit of her profit goes toward a non-profit organization called The Traveler.  You can read about it here   I think that is really wonderful that she does that.   I hope you will come over to the  store tomorrow and check out the new images.

I was the recipient of a Amazon gift card last week.  It was so sweet of my friend to do this.  I am so addicted to Spellbinders and this A2 Polka dot was at the top of my long want list so this is what I purchased with my gift card.

CCEE 1248- Ribbon Weave

This week Vicky is the hostess for the CCEE Stampers challenge and she challenged us to make a card
and lace our ribbon through a bracket, a piece of lattice work or card stock.  I started off with a Paper Cupcakes image and popped it up on the blue embossed paper.   I used a border punch and weaved my ribbon through it.  Why don't you head on over to the CCEE Stampers and join us for the challenge.  We would love to see how you use your ribbon.

Winter scene - Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek of one of the new sets that is now in The Marks' Finest Paper
store.  This one is called Winter scenes.  I used stickles, liquid pearls and glitter paper to give it some bling.  I also added some branches made with silver paper and green glitter paper.  My bow was, once again, tied with my trusty fork.

Thanks for stopping by today to take a peek.

Paper Cupcakes - Sparkles

Ildiko, a Paper Cupcakes design team member, gave the challenge this week over at the challenge blog and she wants the team  to use any Paper Cupcake image and add some sparkle.   That means we could use glitter, stickles, foil paper, glitter paper or anything that gives sparkle to our cards.  I used some glitter on the Paper Cupcakes image, "It's My Party".  I also punched some balloons from glitter paper.   I do hope you will come on over to "There's Magic in the Air" blog and play along with us.  You do not have to use a Paper Cupcake image, but if you do, you will be entered in the drawing for a free digi, twice instead of only once.  Nina may also have a discounted image available, too.   See you there.

Glitter and Bling it up

Glitter and Bling it up is the name of the game.   Rhonda's Rowdy Rascal's are giving the challenge over at the Squigglefly Blog and the say use glitter and bling.   I chose to use the Squigglefly image Antique Ornament #5 by Lynne Stansbery.  I have used stickles on the ornament for the glitter and put gems in the corners for the bling.   The paper I used is by Paper Studio that was in my scraps bag from last year.  I love getting to use up some of the leftover scraps.   I colored the image with copics.  Come on over to the  Squigglefly Blog and see what the team has colored up for you this week.   Upload your card with glitter and bling to be entered in the drawing for a free digi.

Thanks, for coming by today.

Speedy Fox and Friends #135

Here it is time for another  fun Speedy Fox Challenge.    The challenge this week is to follow a recipe, use one layer, two colors and three embellishments.   I chose to use one of the new sets, "Big City", that will be in the Mark's Finest Paper store soon.  I thought this would be a great time to do a sneak peek of it.  I liked how quick I could make a card with it.   I used a spellbinder to cut out a rectangle on a piece of copy paper and centered it on my card stock.  I sponged all around with blue and then stamped my image.    I hope you will come over to the Speedy Fox and Friends blog and play along with us today.  As always, they are giving one lucky winner  a nice stamp set.

Here is another card I made with the "Big City" stamps, but used two colors this time.

Pretty Poppies

I made this card for the Splitcoast Stampers WT402 challenge which was to make a black and white card with a touch of color. It is also for the Splitcoast Stampers F4A144 challenge to make a card with glitter on it. I used stickles for the centers of the poppies and added some bling.  The image is a Paper Cupcakes digital image.

Speedy Fox and Friends #134 - Pop It Up

Here it is Saturday again and another fun challenge from Speedy Fox and Friends.    The challenge this week is to Pop It Up.  I chose to use the Mark's Finest Paper stamp set "Poinsettia Blooms".  I popped up the doily with the lamp and I also popped up the poinsettia's with the branches.   You can find the other team members fabulous cards Here  as well as the detail to this challenge.  You will find Mr. Linky there, too.  I hope you will load up your card and play along with us.  There is always a nice stamp set there for the lucky winner.  You do not have to use a Mark's Finest Paper Stamp, but if you do your name will be entered in the drawing twice.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Punched Giraffe

Here is a card I am sending out to one of the tea potters from over at Splitcoast Stampers.     She just had a birthday so this is a belated birthday card for her.   I made this at a Stampin' Up class so I cannot take credit for the design.  I thought it was really cute.

It is in the upper 20's here this morning.   I think we had frost on the pumpkins, as the saying goes.

Have a wonderful day.

In the Meadow we can Build a Snowman

The Paper Cupcakes  challenge for this week is given by Angie and she has challenged us to make a card with this "Snowman with a Tree" image which is a new release.   I thought he was pretty cute and wanted to dress him up in a plaid jacket by using the paper piecing technique.  Angie also asked us to use one or more snowflakes with our snowman.   If you would like to play along in our challenge, go over to There's Magic in the Air Blog.   Nina always gives one lucky person a free digi each week and this new image is free for 48 hours.  You can go on over to the blog and see the other team members cards this week and upload your card to the blog.

Thanks, for stopping by today.

A Jolly Ole' Soul - Oldie but goodie

Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals have a challenge going over at the Squigglefly blog  called Oldie but Goodie.  We are to make a card with one of the older images in the Squigglefly store.    I chose to use this adorable snowman, "Snowy Card" by Marla Shega.   I had no idea where I was going with this image when I started.  Sometimes that works out and sometimes not so good.   I happened to like the end results on this little guy along with the paper I had that would go with him.  I am terrible about coloring an image to find out I have not paper that matches.  I got lucky this time. Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing my "Jolly Ole Soul".   Stop by the Squigglefly blog to see what the other gals have made, you can also check out the details of this challenge.

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

How about a fence? Speedy Fox #133

Guess what?  It is time for another challenge over at Speedy Fox and Friends.   The challenge is to add a fence.    There are a lot of ways to add a fence.  Well, if you can draw, which I cannot, you could draw up a really nice fence,  you could stamp a fence, use a die cut fence or use a punch to make a fence.   I chose to use a Stampin'Up word window punch to make my fence.  The stamp I have used is from Mark's Finest Papers.   I colored it with copies and sponged some clouds for the background.    I hope you will come on over to  Speedy Fox and Friends and join us for the challenge.  Someone who joins us will win a nice stamp set, it could be you.  I hope to see your card there so I can see what kind of fence you came up with.

Thanks for coming by today.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping in to see what is happening here in Boxertown.

CCEE Stampers Challenge

This week, the CCEE Stamper's challenge is to make a card using only a portion of our embossing folder.  We can choose any theme we like  but we were reminded that  Christmas is  just around the corner!!!  My ef had a portion of the card not embossed so I  hope this is permissable,  I don't want the challenge police to come knocking on my door.  ~grin~

Won't you join the CCEE stampers in this challenge?  Don't forget to add your card to Mr. Linky at the bottom of the  blog page so we can see your wonderful cards!

This is also for the Twisted Sister's challenge this week which is to make a one layer Christmas card.

Holly Jolly Greetings Sketch Challenge

The sketch challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers is pretty fun today.   It is both fun and easy.   I like easy peasy so here is the Christmas card I made this morning.     It is rainy here and cool.   I hope it is a great day wherever you are.

Enjoy the view

I played the inspiration challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers this week.  We chose something from
"artful home" to draw our inspiration from.  I chose a picture of a beautiful horizon, I took the colors from it and created this card.   I am visualizing being down in Tennessee in a cabin and looking across  the way at another cabin.  I used two stamp sets (Enjoy the view and On the fly) by Marks
Finest Papers to make my card.  I used Paper Studio designer paper and others that I am not sure of.    The coloring was done with copics.

Just a little goofiness

I filled another's spot to give the Twisted Sister challenge at the last minute so off the top of my head, I challenged them to make a humorous Christmas card with a banner.  I know that Christmas is a serious thing and that it is all about the birth of Jesus.   I also think that God gave me a sense of humor to use, even though some say I have an off the wall sense of humor.   Oh, well.  :)  Even after I gave this challenge, I had a hard time coming up with a Christmas image for humor.   I went through already stamped images and found this one, thanks to a friend.   I added the North Pole to the Street sign and made up this computer generated sentiment.

Thanks for looking.

Speedy Fox and Friends #132 - All about Rick Rack

It's Saturday, that means it is time for another fun challenge over at Speedy Fox and Friends.
The challenge for this week is to make a card using Rick Rack.  I chose to use a border punch that looks like Rick Rack.  I used one of the brand new stamp sets from Mark's Finest Papers - a Heinrich Company, called "Poinsettia Blooms".  I hope you will go over to the blog to see what the other team members have made and to upload your card to our challenge.   You will have until Friday, November 9th 2012 to post your card.  You are not required to use a Mark's Finest Paper stamp, but if you do,  you will be entered twice into the drawing.  There is always a nice stamp set given away to the winner, but you have to enter to be in the drawing to win.

I Am In Love - Squigglefly Sneak Peek

Oh, my, am I ever in love with this adorable Squigglefly image called "Devotion" by Lynne Stansberry.   This is a sneak peek of one of the new images that will be available on Saturday.
Most of you who know that I am a dog lover so this was the perfect image for me to work with.
I know this dog is not a boxer, but my boxers have  natural ears so this kind of reminds me of one of mine.  No wonder I am so drawn to it.   Be sure and stop by the Squigglefly Store on Saturday and check out the new images.

The paper I used for my card is Doodlebug designs, the sentiment is Stampin' Up and I used copics for my coloring.

Thanks for stopping by.

CCEE Stampers - Pressed Flowers

It is time for another fun challenge with the CCEE gals.  Vicky gave the challenge this week.  We are to make a card with faux pressed flowers.   I used a Stampin' Up stamp set and added some butterflies that my friend, Greenie, sent me.  I colored the pearls with copics to match my other colors.   I hope you will stop by the CCEE Stamper's Blog to join us for our challenge and to check out the other team members cards, too.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Holly Jolly Soul - Sketch challenge

I really liked the sketch challenge over at splitcoast stampers today.   It gave me an opportunity to use up some scraps and make several cards to give to a friend for her birthday.  This little snowman from squigglefly makes me smile, isn't he cute?    Okay, I have to get busy here and get something done before the day is totally gone.  I bet you never have that problem.  It's just me, right?

Thanks, for coming by today.

Another cupcake

Here is another card  I made with the image "Pretty in Pink" that Nina over at Paper Cupcakes drew for Breast Cancer Awareness month.  This time I decided to make a Rocker card.

I hope all my friends on the East Coast are doing okay.  They have sure had some terrible weather.

Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Cupcakes - Pretty in Pink

Since October is Breast Cancer awareness month and the color for that is PINK, the  Paper Cupcake/There' Magic in the Air Design team decided to make cards for this occasion and Nina drew up a special image for it.  You can find this image over at the Paper Cupcake store.  I really liked the simplicity of this card so I did not add a lot of extras, the rick rack was gifted to me by my friend Kathy and I think it was perfect to wrap up my card.  I contemplated coloring the paper wrapper on the cupcake, but decided that would take away from it.    Our cards are suppose to be made with 75% of the card being pink.   If you do, Nina will put your name in the drawing twice for a chance to win a free Paper Cupcake image.  Since we all have either had breast cancer affect us or someone we know so how about joining us for this challenge.   I am happy to say I am a 17 year breast cancer survivor, no wonder I like pink.

Thanks, for stopping by.

Two Squares for Squigglefly Challenge

Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals over at Squigglefly Blog has a challenge this week to put to squares on our cards.  I chose to use this beautiful image "Apples and Pumpkins" by Lynne Stansbery, a Squigglefly
digital image.   Once again,  I was drawn to pumpkins and bright colors.  My main image may be on a circle, but it is backed by a square and my card base is square so I think this is qualified for the Squigglefly challenge.  Why don't you come on over to the Squigglefly Blog and join us for the challenge.   Someone always wins a image of their choice if they are the lucky winner.   You do not have to use a squigglefly image, but if you do, you will be entered in the drawing twice.
