My friend, Melody, recently had to say goodbye to one of her basset hounds. She loves her dogs like I do and has taken it really hard. I made this card for her using the Our Daily Bread Designs Pet Sympathy stamps. I love the paper I used, but it was a scrap and I cannot tell you the name of it. The black heart embellishments were made with a stamp from this set. I used clear embossing powder on them to achieve a shine and to make it thicker, but not thick enough that it required additional postage.
I hope you enjoyed my card today and I hope Melody likes it when it arrives in her mailbox today.
Beautiful card for a sad occasion Shirley! I'm sure your friend will appreciate it greatly! We had to put our daughter's cat down last week...she was 17:( Gorgeous coloring and papers! And the sentiment is so true!

How sad for your friend - it's never easy. Your card is lovely and I'm sure your friend will appreciate your thoughtfulness.
ReplyDeleteHow thoughtful of you to pick just the right image and sentiment - love those hearts with the paw prints, and embossing them to make them stand out was a great idea! Even the BG paper has those paw prints! This card is such a wonderful way to let Melody know you feel her loss as deeply as she does.
ReplyDeleteA sympathy card is so welcome after losing a beloved pet. I saved all mine in a scrapbook with photos. I'm sure your friend will appreciate this beautiful, thoughtful card you made for her!
ReplyDeleteLosing a pet is never easy but sure your friend will treasure the card you have made beautiful image and sentiment and love all the little paw prints
