Flying a Kite - another new release from Blue Knight Rubber Stamps

Hello, Crafty Friends.  Wow, it is Monday, once again, and I have two cards to share with you from Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.  This on is called Flying a Kite.  This set comes with the silhouette image and a sentiment which I have used on the first card.  I loved working with  this stamp.  You can make a fabulous scene with added stamp sets or you can stamp it on designer for a quick, but beautiful card.

This was a really easy card to make.  I stamped the silhouette image on this pretty designer paper and it looks like I spent some time water coloring it.  I like when I have paper that makes me look good.  ~grin~.   The paper was from a paper pack I purchased at Hobby Lobby.

For my second card, I decided to make a beach scene.  Oh, what fun it would be to be flying a kite on the beach for a young couple creating wonderful memories.   I used the Forever After Sentiment Stamps.   I stamped my beach image on the card stock and colored it with Copic Markers.  I added a white gel pen to my water to give it the effect of waves.  I used a Heidi Pettie Cloud Stencil to make my clouds along with turquoise ink.  I used a stamp positioner to stamp the silhouette image and sentiment over the top of the beach.  Any easy way to do this is to put a piece of clear card stock over your card, you stamp on it and you can see clearly where your image is going to be and you can make sure your sentiment is straight before you stamp on the card.  I use the clear acrylic packaging from Spellbinders Dies to stamp on.   After I am done with it,  I clean it off  and it is ready to use again or you can pitch it and use another piece for the next time.  I store my dies in thick plastic envelopes so I keep  several of the packages to cut up for my card project protectors.

I am happy you joined me today.    I hope you enjoyed the cards.

Have a fabulous week.

The beach scene (with all your hints on how to get everything lined up perfectly) with its great sentiment, looks so realistic - seeing the white caps on the ocean, is reminiscent of a wonderful summer day!

  10. This brings back childhood memories of trying to get a kite to fly and endlessly running up and down a hill by the sea where I grew up. I never did have much success despite my efforts. You have created a wonderful scene xx
