Hi everyone,
As many of you may have already heard by now, our friend and fellow Design Team member lost her fight with cancer earlier this month passing away on the 2nd January 2014. Charlene has been battling liver and brain cancer for approx the last 12 months,
Charlene was one of the founding members of the CCEE Stampers which was formed in 2007 with our first challenge posted to SCS on the 2nd July 2007. In those days the challenges we did were just between eight stamping friends who had meet on SCS.
Charlene was loved in the stamping community and was very active on SCS and also had her own blog WhereMMsGather and My Creations. Charlene will be greatly missed by all of us here at CCEE Stampers as well as in the stamping community.
Today would have been Charlene's birthday so we have invited the past CCEE stampers to join us in this special tribute to our stamping friend by either.
1. Creating a card depicting one of the things she loved which included:
M & M's
Penguins
Purple
2. CASEing a card Charlene created from either her blog or her SCS Gallery
Here is the card I made in honor of Charlene. Charlene was one of the sweetest ladies one could ever meet (although I never had the chance to meet her IRL) and she had a fabulous sense of humor. We had lots of laughs over the years, here on SCS. Love and miss you, my friend.
Shirley, that is the cutest penguin and I know Charlene would love it to pieces. If she didn't have it, she would be getting it. :-) This is a wonderful tribute to our friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to remember your friend Shirley... Hugs, blessings and love from Catherine
ReplyDeleteI am sure she is looking down and loving your card and all the cards today! It really is a cutie!

ReplyDeleteThis penguin card is just the cutest. A wonderful tribute to our dear friend, and her sense of whimsy and humor!
ReplyDeleteI am sure that Charlene is smiling, looking down on your adorable creation in her honor today. She was one really special lady, as so many of us know, and her incomparable love of life was reflected in her cards, her humor, and her friendship to so many stampers.
ReplyDeleteYour adorable penguin and his igloo make the perfect card, knowing how she liked penguins - bet that igloo is filled with her ever present M&Ms too! Miss you, Charlene!
I can 'hear' the giggles Charlene would have had seeing this fabulously creative penguin creation.....what a fitting and fun tribute.....and we all know that Charlene LOVED to have fun.....esp. while flinging stuff around......hugs
ReplyDeleteSo cute Shirley! The penguin is adorable and your igloo is perfect - did you cut it with a cutting program? These days I feel like I might need an igloo - we are not use to cold in South AL. Perfect tribute to Charlene - she would love this. Hugz!
