may not visit me this year for putting him in his pink Santa suit and his purple gloves.

 

CCEE Stampers and Squigglefly Challenge

The CCEE Stampers challenge this week is to make a masculine birthday card using green, tan and brown.  I combined this with the Squigglefly challenge which was to make a card using either paper piecing or piercing.    I am showcasing a new Squigglefly image,  Max is flying high by Cheryl Grant Alger,  that will be in the store on Saturday with lots of other fabulous images.   The hexagon stamps are from Stampin' Up.

Speedy Fox and Friends - Tie it up

Today's Speedy Fox and Friends challenge is to tie it up.   My idea of tying it up is tying a ribbon in the corner.   I did not want to take away from the poppies and the embossing so I decided to tie a little bow.
The stamps I used today is Mark's Finest paper "Welcome Poppies".

Speedy TV Inspiration Challenge #21-Boxers are the best

The Speedy Tv Inspiration challenge today is all about boxers.  Yes, Boxer dogs, that is.

I have picked some cute boxer pictures for the inspiration.   I can see all kinds of possibilities for getting inspiration from these pics.  It could be a birthday hat,  a Santa hat,  a coffee cup,  any kind of dog breed, a Christmas tree, a baby bib, the colors and the list could go on and on.  There is never a mistake in an inspiration challenge, it is how you personally perceive it.   You can see I chose "Santa Paws" for my inspiration from the pictures below.  The packages under the tree are blue, but it does not show well in my picture.  I used liquid applique for the swirly snow on my tree.  The Santa is from a Mark's Finest Paper Mini stamp set called "Snow Balls".

CCEE Stampers #1330 - Old School Color Blocking

This week the challenge over at the CCEE Stampers blog is to make a card doing "Old
School" color blocking.   Guess who did not read the full directions of this challenge.
Correct, it was me.  I color blocked with magical masking tape, put my card together and
realized I had not done the challenge correct.  I took the card apart and cut it into pieces
and put it back together again.  I think I am now in compliance with the rules of this
challenge.  I hate it when I hear the sirens of the challenge police coming my way.  :)

I used a stamp set from Artistic Outpost called "Boardwalk".  I use SU inks-gumball green, midnight muse and pool party.

On the Boardwalk

I love this stamp set by Artistic Outpost  called "Boardwalk".     It makes me want to go
back to the boardwalk in Atlantic City.    That was a great vacation.   Okay, back to my card.
I used the magical masking tape technique and made the blue, brown and green strips.  In between those stripes,  I sponged in other colors.   I used Stazon to stamp my images.

Squigglefly- Baby Blue or Pretty Pink

Wow, it is time for another Squigglefly challenge.   The week's are rolling by so fast.  Won't be long and the summer will be gone.  ~And hopefully the heat we have had this week~  It has not been enjoyable.   Getting back to the challenge, Rhonda has challenged everyone to make a card in Baby Blue or Pretty Pink.  When I thought of pretty pink, I thought of this pretty rose paper, then I thought of this beautiful pre-colored Digi by Inger Harding.  This came from a package of digi paper and pre colored digi's called Winter Wonderland.   I  gave the digi a spring look instead of winter.  If you love pre colored and images that have a vintage look, you will want to check these out over at the Squigglefly store.

Speedy Fox Inspiration Challenge - Luscious cakes

Today's Speedy TV Inspiration Challenge is all about "luscious cakes".    I love the pictures of the cakes,  I would be tickled to have any of them, they look mighty tasty.  Here are the pictures I chose for  the inspiration piece:

                  I chose the black and white cake for my inspiration.           Here is my card:

When I choose my inspiration pictures, I do not give it a thought as to what I will make with them.  I just choose ones that look interesting.   I started out using the bright colored cake for my inspiration and began to search for paper.    I happened to think of the Mark's Finest Paper Stamp set called
"Welcome Poppies" and how they would match the flowers on the black and white cake so that is the moment I switched cakes for my inspiration.

CCEE Challenge - Sing, Sing a song

The challenge theme for the CCEE Stampers this week is "Sing, Sing a Song".   I always love
doing the challenges with a song title.  For this one, I chose the song "Long Black Train" by Josh Turner.  The stamp I used is a Mark's Finest Paper stamp called Train Talk.  I am pleased to have another masculine card added to my stash, I seem to do more girly cards so they are needed.  Thank you for coming by today and I do hope you might join us for the challenge.

Squigglefly - Emboss it

Holley's team at Squigglefly are giving the challenge this week.  The challenge is to emboss it.  I embossed the yellow panel on my card.  I used the Squigglefly image by Cheryl Grant Alger called
"Come here often?"     I paired it up with Carta Bella paper (from the Stamp Simply Ribbon store) which was perfect for this image.

Speedy Fox and Friends - Favorite Technique

Hi everyone.  I hope you are off to a good start on the weekend.   Here at  Speedy Fox and Friends,
we are starting our Saturday off by showing you our favorite techniques.   I usually choose clouds as my fav, but this week, I think I have discovered a new favorite technique.   I used masking tape for my stripes.  I took a piece of the tape and ran it across my red ink pad.  I laid the tape on my card, took a piece of paper (keeps ink off the fingers) and rubbed over the tape to leave the red stripe.   I cased this card and technique from this card on Splitcoast stampers. The Mark's Finest Stamp set I used today is USA Hero's.   Be sure and check out the blog to see what techniques the other team members have used.   Thanks, for stopping by today.

Inspiration Challenge #19 - It's all about the dresses

The Speedy TV Inspiration Challenge this week is all about dresses.   I chose three  Zulily dresses for the inspiration.   I couldn't decide between two of the dresses so I chose the one with flowers.  As I was making the card I kept thinking about the brown and blue dress.  I love those colors together.   Long story short, I finished the first card and decided to make the second one.   The first card was made with the Mark's Finest Paper set called "Silly Shells' and the second one, also a MFP set, is called "I need a vacation".   How do you like the net on the beach card?  That piece of net is  from an onion sack, I love to recycle when I can.
