Happy New Year

Happy New Year,  everyone.  Are you making any New Year's resolutions?  Personally, I am not,  I find that it does not take long for me to break them and it usually happens within the first week. ~Smile~

Every year I make New Year's cards to send to some of my friends that may not have gotten a Christmas card from me due to time running out before I could get enough cards made or put in the mail.   Unfortunately,  I did not get many of the Happy New Year cards made either.  Here is the New Year card I made to share with you today.

I started my card using black card stock and layering it with two different patterns of designer paper.  I used Super Gold Metallic card stock that was cut with a Spellbinders Teardrop Circles die.  The Impression Obsession Christmas Sentiment was stamped and layered on the top of the tear drop circle.

I used the Memory Box Over The Moon and Stars die to cut the large moon shape.  I placed silver and gold sequins over my card to give it a holiday appeal.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Card For Comfort

Here is a card I made to send to a friend with health problems.  The stamps I used are from Our Daily Bread.   The bird and scripture was so perfect for her.  Just reading the scripture could provide comfort. The paper I used from my card was a beige piece of decorative card stock with no other color.  I stamped some flowers and vines on it to give it some color.   I used a cloud template to sponge the sky around the scripture and the bird.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you visit again soon.

Classy Cards N Such Challenge #117 - Let It Snow

Hello, stamping friends.   I have a snowflake card to share with you for the challenge at Classy Cards challenge #117.  The challenge is all about snowflakes.

I started with a white base.   I used the Memory Box Distressed Baptisia Collage die on the lower corner of the card.  I cut a piece of Stardream Rose Quartz card stock to use for the layer on the inside of the card so it shows through the top part of the card.

I also used Stardream Rose Quartz to use with the Sue Wilson Joy -Festive Collection die.  I put a layer of gray card stock behind it to make it stand out.  I really like the pink and gray color combination.

I cut a gray snowflake using the Memory Box Rizza Snowflake die.    I cut another one from pink to make the pink center of the snowflake.

I wanted to add a couple of small snowflakes to my card in the pink Stardream Rose Quartz card stock.  They were cut using the  Impression Obsession Small Snowflake set die.

The finishing step to my card was adding silver sequins.  I adhered the sequins and all the card parts using  Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

Thank you, for joining us today.  I hope you are ready to get started on your snowflake card and join us for the challenge.

The Season Of Music

Here is a card I made for Classy Cards N Such.  I wanted to make an unusual Christmas card and I think I succeeded.   ~grin~  The music on my card reminded me of days past, when I was a child.  We always had a good time singing Christmas carols and celebrating the season.

I started my card by sponging my card stock with Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Evergreen Distress Stain.

I stamped the sentiment on the card using Impression Obsession Christmas Sentiments stamp set.  I adhered the Memory Box Party Music over the top of the sponged colorsI used silver card stock to make the Small Snowflakes by Impression Obsession.  I wrapped my card up by adhering the pieces to the card using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

I entered this card is the Impression Obsession - Snowy Wishes challenge.

A Cold Winter Night

My card for today is for the Classy Cards N Such Silent Night challenge.  The Inspiration Picture looks so peaceful to look at, but it has way more snow than I am wanting to see.

I cut my snowbanks and put them on the card leaving enough room to put my Impression Obessesion Brick House and  for the Poppystamps Bundled Snowman.  I placed Sue Wilson
Winter Trees in the snow banks.  My finishing touch was placing the  Art Impressions
Christmas Star in the sky and added stickles to it.

Here is the inspiration picture and we would love to have you join us for the challenge.

Gatefold Latch Card

I have made a gatefold latch card to share with you.  I had saw a few of these on some of the blogs I follow and decided it was time for me to do some measuring and come up with a plan to make one.

I started with a white piece of card stock 4 1/4 by 11 for the card base.  I scored in from each side at 2 3/4 inches.  I cut the layers for the front using brown card stock and designer paper from my stash.

Now I am going to get started on the latch for my card.  Here is a picture of the card partially open so you can see how the latch works.

The outer brown decorative piece of brown card stock was cut using the Sue Wilson California Collection Beverly Hills die.
I used the inside of this die to cut the white decorative piece.  The next brown decorative piece was cut using one of the  Spellbinders Oval Regalia die.  The center oval was made using an oval punch.

I used gold card stock to cut the Memory Box  Willoughby Butterfly Wings.

My Impression Obsession Brick House dies arrived this week.  I was really excited to get it because I wanted to used the decorative pieces for the eaves of the house for the corners of my card.  Not only can you make a cute little house with this set, you have two dies that can be used for corners.  I love dies that can be used for more than one purpose.  I am going to be using this one a lot.  I love the corner pieces.

To construct the card I used Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive to attach the pieces of my card.  When gluing the latch you will want to glue half of the brown decorative piece to one side of the card and the white piece on the other side so your latch will open properly.

I added a few LeCreme Pearls for the finishing touch to my card.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my card.  Come back soon, we will have another great card for you to see.  If you haven't joined us for our Starry Night challenge this week, you still have time to  make your card and link it up to our blog.  The challenge ends tomorrow night.   We would love to see your card..

Have a great weekend.

Classy Cards N Such Challenge #115 - Starry Night Challenge

I am posting a card for our new Starry Night challenge at the Classy Cards N Such Blog.
I loved our inspiration photo with the stars.  I love stars and hearts so I added a heart in with the stars on my card.

I found this star designer paper in my stash and it reminded me of the fabric on the star pillows in the inspiration picture.  I was lucky to find blue card stock paired with it so I used it for my card base.  I made a gate fold card.  The base was 8 X 4 1/4 and I scored in from each side at 2 1/4 inches.    I cut my star paper to layer over each blue panel.

I used Spellbinders Scalloped Hearts to cut the blue scalloped heart.    I used a heart die to cut the top layer of the heart.  The three large stars across the front of the card were cut with a punch.  I used the Memory Box Over The Moon And Stars die to cut the medium size stars.  I used blue card stock and Super Gold Metallic paper for the stars.  I also used the Over The Moon And Stars die to cut the small stars.

The Hello Greeting was made using  a die from the Impression Obsession Greeting Set and placed in the lower corner.

I used Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive to attach the pieces to the card.   The star on the bottom was popped up with Joy Foam Pads Large.

I appreciate you coming by today to see my card and I hope to see your card entered in the Starry Night challenge this week.

Cabrini Christmas Ornament

It sure is starting to look a lot like Christmas.  I see Christmas lights everywhere I go and there is so much hustle and bustle going on in the stores with everyone doing their shopping.

I have another Christmas card to share with you today.   I really like how it turned out, but I was not real pleased with the photograph.  I have a hard time getting a good picture when I use foil paper/card stock.  I have fluorescent lights in my craft area and it really creates a shine.   I went out on the sun porch to take the picture and it really helped.  I still have just a touch of shine on the reindeer, but it was the best I could do.  If you have any tips that might help me with this,  please let me know.
I used a black card base and added a layer of shiny gold sticker paper that had stars on it.  I added white card stock and then a layer of gold snowflake vellum.  I cut the reindeer with the same gold paper using the Sue Wilson Deer Family Festive Collection.

I cut the ornament using the Memory Box Cabrini Ornament.  I used black, silver and gold paper to give my card an elegant look.  I added the snowflake using the Impression Obsession Small Snowflake Set.

The sentiment was gold embossed using the Impression Obsession Christmas Sentiments Stamp set.  I added black poinsettias using the PoppyStamps Small Blooming Poinsettia die.

I added the elements to my card using the Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.  I honestly love this adhesive.

For the finishing touch, I added Silver Rhinestones to the ornament and the poinsettias.  I added a Brown Rhinestone for the reindeer eye.

I am happy you dropped by to see us today.  I hope you enjoyed the card.  Come back and visit again, soon.

Free 4 All challenge card

I was the hostess for the Splitcoast Stampers Free 4 All challenge this week.   My challenge was to make a card and the title of it had to match a movie.   I chose "Planes, Trains and Automobiles".   I loved that movie and ofcourse John Candy.   I used Tim Holtz stamps and distress inks to achieve the vintage look.

Color Challenge Butterfly Card

Here is a card I made for the Splitcoast Color Challenge for today.   The challenge colors are Night of Navy and Baja Breeze.  I substituted Cool Caribbean.   The dessert of the challenge was to use gold.

Classy Cards N Such Challenge #114 - Add an Angel

Our challenge at the Classy Cards N Such blog this week is add an angel to our cards or projects and let the inspiration photo inspire us.  I used snow angels on my card. I hope you will join us for this challenge as  I cannot  wait to see how you use angels on your cards.

Here is the inspiration picture for this week.

I started my card with a white card base and followed with a layer of red foil from the Textured Patterns 1 Foil Paper pack.  Over the red foil, I placed a textured silver foil card stock.

I had some white paper that was already cut into snow banks that I used on the bottom of my card. I cut the trees and red birds using the Impression Obsession Birch Trees die.   I cut a Memory Box Frostyville border and placed it at the top of my card.

The tree was made using the Memory Box Frosted Christmas Tree.  I added Stickles to the branches to make them sparkle.  The poinsettias  were made with the Poppystamps
Small Blooming Poinsettia die.

Last but, not least,  I added the snow angels to my card using the Memory Box Choir of Angels die.

I used Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive to attach the pieces to my card.

Thank you for joining us today.

Tis The Season - Classy Cards N Such

I am still making Christmas cards fast and furiously.  This is a card I made for the Classy Cards N Such blog.  I used the Memory Box Precious Mittens die and the Impression Obsession
Small Snowflake set to make the line of mittens.  The large snowflake is a Memory Box die called
Rizza Snowflakes.  I added a sentiment from the Flourishes Holiday Topiaries stamp set.

I added sequins as the finishing touch.

I am off to make another card.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Classy Cards N Such Chrismas Box Card

The card I made for today is matching some of the weather many of you probably have right now.    The challenge this week at Classy Cards N Such is to make a card with a Christmas Tree with the colors, blue, white, and/or kraft, silver.

I made a box card today.  I started my card using a silver base and the top silver panel was cut at this time, also.  I cut blue layers using Starburst Lichen Aspire Petallic Metallic card stock.   I adhered the card together using 1/4 inch Scor-Tape.

I cut the snow using a cutter.  The Winter Trees are by Sue Wilson.  Next I cut a deer from the Sue Wilson Deer Family - Festive Collection.   I attached the trees and the deer  by using Joy Foam Pads Small.

The final step to my card was cutting this beautiful Joy sentiment that is also from the Sue Wilson Festive Collection.

This card folds flat to fit an A2 Envelope for mailing.   Yay, no extra postage is needed.    If you would like to make one of these cards you can find a tutorial HERE in post #1.

Thanks, for stopping by today and I hope you liked my card.

Classy Cards N Such - Color Burst Ornament

Good Morning,  Friends.   I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving yesterday.   It was great having
the family over and as usual,  I ate way too much Pumpkin Pie Cake.  Yes, I had whip cream with it,
also.    ~grin~

I have made an unusual card for Classy Cards N Such to share with you today.  This is the first orange and  purple Christmas card I have ever made, but I must say I like it.   Okay, what do you think?

I started with a white card base.  I cut a piece of white and used Ken Oliver Color Bursts in OrangeUltramarine Blue and Violet for the next layer.  Then color bursts are real easy to use.  I just sprinkle and spritz.  There are many tutorials on You Tube that will show you step by step how to use them.   I then cut a top layer and used the Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders One to cut the open space so the color burst would show.

I used the Memory Box Lydia Ornament die with white card stock and placed a piece of the Color Burst paper that I had left over to layer behind the ornament.  I cut a piece of silver card stock to make the hanger for the ornament.   Next I used some orange ribbon for the bow.

I used the Impression Obsession Christmas Sentiments and chose the  Season's Greetings stamp to use on the bottom of my card.  I used Silver Detail embossing powder to emboss the sentiment.

The highlighted items came from the Classy Cards N Such store.   Be sure and check out the store, Beverly might have something special going on today.   If not, you can always use the code Shirley-10 for a ten percent discount.

Thank you, for stopping by today and we hope to see you here again soon.  If your out there doing Black Friday shopping, be careful and I hope you find lots of bargains.   Have a wonderful weekend.

Here are cards that I made for the hop.   I like to take images made for one occasion and use them for something totally different.

For my first card I used a set made for St. Patick's Day called
"Lots Of Luck"
I thought with coloring the clover a  different color made them look
like a pot of flowers.  The sentiment is from the
Vintage Fashion stamp set.

This card was made using the

Classy Cards N Such Ornament Challenge #112

Good Morning,  I have made a card for the  Classy Cards N Such Ornament challenge for this week.   I just received a new Sue Wilson die and I was eager to make a card with it, so you will see what I have created with it.

The Joy was cut using the Sue Wilson  Joy - Festive Collection.   It has two dies in it.  One is like the one on my card and the other one is really fancy.   I used gold card stock and silver foil from the Foil Paper - Textured Patterns 1.

The silver foil pine branches were cut using the Impression Obsession Pine Branch die.   The  Cabrini ornament is a Memory Box die.

I layered my white card base with a layer of gold card stock.  The next layer was embossed using the Dots embossing folder. I made the bow with the Memory Box Precious Hearts die.    I used a silver rhinestone in the center of the bow.  I used  Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive to attach the die cuts to the dotted layer.

Be sure and join us for this challenge.  We love seeing your beautiful cards.

Here is the Classy Cards Inspiration picture for this challenge:

Birthday Cuppa Love

I have a cute card that I made for Classy Cards N Such Blog today.   have a lot of friends that are coffee and tea drinkers so this will be a great card to have on hand.

I started with a white card base and added a layer of pink and white.  The next layer is one that I made a while back when I was playing with my Ken Oliver Color Bursts.   I made them using different colors so now I have one ready for this card.  I like to make extra's when I have the supplies out, they really come in handy to help you a make a quick card for an occasion you may have forgotten about..  The color bursts also are good to have for a card or project when you do not have the color of paper you need.  You just make your own.   For this background I used the Memory Box Texture Drip Ring stencil along with Ken Oliver Color Bursts in  Alazarin CrimsonOrange and just a little dab of the Ultramarine Blue,  which made the hint of green on my card.

I used the Poppy Stamps Teacup Stack die that just arrived from the Classy Cards store.  I put some pink and yellow card stock behind the cups.   I popped the cups up on the background with Joy Foam Pads Large.

The sentiment was stamped using the Sweet N' Sassy stamps called "Keep In Touch".  I like this set because it has almost every sentiment one needs in card making.

For the finishing touch, I added sequins and attached them with Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.  I think the sequins just help to give the card a more festive look.

Thanks, so much, for coming by today.  Have a great weekend.

Classy Cards N Such - I Am So Thankful

Here is a card I made for the Classy Cards N Such challenge this week.  When I was thinking about this challenge and what I was going to make,  I was thinking about all the things I am thankful for.  I had a very long list of things.

I started my card with a brown card base,  added pumpkin card stock and a layer of dotted designer paper.

Next I used my Spellbinders Oval Regalia die with Ivory card stock.  I have had this die for a while and I finally remembered to use it.  It looks even prettier than I had imagined.  I attached it to the designer paper using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.

I used my Impression Obsession Classic Truck die with a piece of brown paper from the Graphic 45 Botanical Tea Paper Pad.   I placed the die cut on my oval and made a few marks with a pencil so I knew where it would be located.    I then stamped some pumpkins and colored them with markers.   Next I sponged some blue clouds  and sponged green for the grass.  I stamped some blades of grass in a darker green.  I sponged brown ink around the edges of the truck.  The hub caps were made with silver paper, but I was wearing a red shirt when I took the picture so one of them looks red.  I popped the truck up on the oval using  Joy Foam Dots Small.  I stamped Thankful with the
Sweet N' Sassy stamp set "Keep In Touch".

I added the orange flower and put a Silver Rhinestone in the center for the finishing touch.

Thank you for viewing my card today and be sure to join us for the challenge.  Bev always has a nice prize for the lucky winner.

Classy Cards N Such - Pink, Glittery Chloe Stems

Good Morning,  blog friends.    The leaves are falling very quickly in my little corner of the world and almost all of the summer flowers are gone.  I still have some pink petunia's that give the lawn a little color.   Seeing the pink colored petunias put me in a mood to make a flower card, for
Classy Cards N Such,  with sparkles to brighten up the day.

I started with a white card base and cut another white layer to use over it.  I used my Sue Wilson
Lavish Swirls Diagonal die to on the bottom of this layer.   I chose the  Anna Griffin Matelasse embossing folder to emboss the top portion of this layer.   I cut a piece of pink glitter paper to attach under the Lavish Swirls.  I popped it up over the card base using Joy Foam Pads Large.

I used the same pink glitter paper with the Memory Box Tall Chloe Stem die.    The pink and silver glitter butterflies were made using the Memory Box Butterfly Delights die.

I adhered the chloe stems and butterflies to my card using Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive and the Art Institute Metal Tip.  For the final touch to my card,  I added white pearls to the butterfly and chloe stems.

All of the highlighted products mentioned may be found in the Classy Cards N Such Store.  You may use the code Shirley-10 for a ten percent discount.

I hope you liked my card and I appreciate you stopping by.  Have a great weekend.

CCNS Challenge # 110-Stockings Were Hung

I am sharing a Christmas card I made for the Classy Cards N Such #110 challenge to use red, white and a touch of green plus add a stocking or mitten.

I layered my white card base with a piece of beautiful red foil from the Textured Patterns 1 paper pack.  Next I embossed the next white layer using the Dots embossing folder.

I cut three white wreaths using the Impression Obsession Twig Wreath.  I glued them together using
Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.    I used the Poppy Stamps Stocking Garland die to cut the stockings and the holly.  I used scrap pieces of the Foil paper to make them.  I save every little piece of this beautiful paper for small items like these.

I felt like my card needed something else so I chose to use the Impression Obsession Tied Line Die to add a little spice to the lower corner.    I added a White Pearl to the center of the bow.

I hope you plan on joining us for the challenge.  See you there.

Entered in the Poppy Stamps challenge - Home for the Holidays

Colorful Fish - MIX Challenge

Here is a card I made for the Mix challenge on Splitcoast Stampers and used stamps by MFP Stamp Shop stamps.  To create the background I used Dilusions spray in blue and purple colors.  I used a SU honeycomb stamp with white acrylic paint over the top of it.  I colored my "fishies" with copics and added sequins on the card to look like fish bubbles.

Hope your having a great weekend.  Thanks, for looking at my card.
