The Ways to Use It challenge at Splitcoast today is to make a monumental look for our cards to honor the heroes who gave their lives 13 yrs ago at the Twin Towers. Our backgrounds are to look like stone, marble, granite, etc..
I used distress inks-lettuce, meadow, terra cotta for my background. I used a Hampton Art Stamp. I stamped it 3 times over the top of my background to give it a collage look.

Speedy TV Inspiration Challenge - Succulents
The Speedy TV Inspiration challenge is all about Succulents. Wow, I never dreamed they could be so pretty. A zillion years ago when I was a little girl, my mom had green Succulents and they were called "Hens and Chickens". I would have never dreamed that there would be so many beautiful colors now and that they could even be used in wedding bouquets. It seems like there is a succulent craze in the states. I hear of them so often now. My sister absolutely loves them, she is always mentioning about getting more and what kind of pot or box she is going to plant them in. I don't think I will get any succulents. All plants seem to wither when I just look at them.
For my card I chose to use a Mark's Finest Paper Stamp called "Cone Flowers". This set is perfect for any occasion and it happens to be one of my favorites. I used a border die to get the shape of the card. I embossed the negative and added it to the other side of the card.
Here are the pictures I chose for the inspiration challenge:
Thank you for stopping by to check out the new challenge is. I hope the pictures have enticed you to join us for the challenge. You do have to use a Mark's Finest Paper stamp to play, using a MFP stamp does get your name in the drawing twice.

Classy Cards N Such - Blue Bird Melody
Good morning and Happy Wednesday. I am back with a card I made for the Classy Cards N Such challenge this week. The challenge is to pick a pattern of stripes, dots, chevrons or use all three. I chose striped paper from a Graphic 45 Botanical Tea paper pad. I thought this stamp
"Blossom Birds" by Penny Johnson was really cute so I colored it and used a die to cut it out. I used the same die set to cut my pretty frame for the birds. The filigree bow is a Sue Wilson Finishing Touches - Filigree 3D Itty Bitty bow die. It really comes in handy when you do not have the right shade of ribbon, it is so easy just to cut one from the paper you are using. A perfect match every time. I finished my card by using Silver Rhinestones.
I hope you enjoyed my little blue birds today. Any of the products in bold print can be found in the Classy Cards N Such Store. Use the code Shirley-10 for a 10 % discount.
Please join us for the challenge. Beverly has a Dots embossing folder from Joy Crafts for the prize. You can find the rules of the challenge here.
Have a great week and congratulations - you are half way through your work week. I hope it has been good thus far.
P.S. I just found out yesterday that I have a card that was published. I must remember to pick up a copy of the magazine next time I go shopping.
Challenges Entered:

Speedy Fox and Friends - Friendship Card
Speedy Fox and Friends challenge this is to make a friendship card and add glitter. I used the
Mark's Finest Paper "Coneflowers" stamp set. I sponged around the coneflower trying to make it look like it was watercoloring. I added Dazzling diamonds glitter to the flower. A friend of mine sent me the beautiful background paper. I really like it.
Thanks, for stopping by today.

Classy Cards N Such - Lovely Calcutta Flower
I am loving the Calcutta Mini Porcelane Flowers and I am using one of them again today. I embossed my pink card stock first. I then used the Classic Scalloped Ovals Large dies to cut the scallop trim.
Next I used the Spellbinders A2 Divine Eloquence dies. I added the Calcutta Mini Porcelane Flower to the center of my card.
I stamped Prayers from the Justrite Botanical Medallions and Banners on Simple Stories Vintage Bliss paper. I used an oval punch to punch the sentiment. I cut another oval from white card stock, cut it in half to make the layer for the sentiment. I attached my pink card stock to a white card. I added White Pearls to the oval and the main frames of the card for the finishing touch.

Classy Cards N Such - Fall Foilage
It's Shirley posting today. It is that time of year where summer is winding down and fall is heading our way, here in the States. We already have leaves falling from the trees and I am seeing lots of deer in the woods behind my house. As I view my card, I definitely see a look of fall. I am not ready for fall because I know a cold winter follows next.
I started off using black card stock to cut my step card base. I proceeded to cut the main pieces of my card using Graphic 45 French Country Designer paper. I used the Impression Obsession Small Grass Border for my greenery. I adhered it to the card. I used the Impression Obsession Bare Tree Die to cut the tree out of black card stock and attached it to the card. I cut the Impression Obsession Small Deer from brown card stock - adhered them to the card.
I used a small circle punch to cut the sun and sponged it with deep orange ink. I decided the tree needed something extra and used a butterfly punch to add the butterflies. I cut small squares from the Graphic 45 paper. I used small punches to for my Life letters and adhered them to the steps with glue. I have used glue dots for this before, but I have found that the glue holds them in place much better. I used the Spellbinders Large Scalloped Ovals die to cut the oval that is placed under the plain oval. I used a sentiment from the JustRite Botanical Medallions stamp set. To finish up my card, I fussy cut part of a sunflower from the Graphic 45 French Country paper.
The dies and stamps listed above can be found at Classy Cards N Such.

Thanks, for viewing my card today. Come back tomorrow to see another fabulous card designed by one of my Classy Cards N Such team mates.
Squigglefly Challenge - You are a Star
The Squigglefly Challenge theme this week is you are a star. I wanted to use the new Squigglefly image by Tam Hess called "Artsy Owl". I wasn't sure how I was going to tie it in with the stars until I happened to remember the Christmas paper pack I had with owls and stars. I colored the owl with copics and used a punch for the stars on the owl. The sentiment is computer generated. I think this artsy owl works very well for a Christmas card, what do you think?
